I just got these lights for my new deck and so far they appear to be very nice. The fit and finish perfectly match my AZEK post covers and install was simple. These lights are much nicer than anything I have seen at HomeDepot or Lowes. The light adjustment works well and I have them set to the 3rd brightness (of 7) and they are plenty bright to safely illuminate my deck at night.

We recently replaced our cedar deck with a Trex deck. Since Trex doesn't offer solar caps, a rep at Lowe's suggested these. They are amazing compared to the standard solar caps on our old deck. Love that they have the different levels of brightness and three color options. Because they are more expensive, I initially only bought four. Once we installed them, there was no question that they were worth the money and I ordered four more for all our posts. I would have given them 5 stars, but we have four posts that are 7 feet tall for hanging baskets and it is very difficult to change colors without getting on a ladder. You need to see where the center is to change it. But I only plan on changing the color a few times a year, so it isn't an issue. It's a lot easier to change the brightness level even at that height. The deck looks spectacular at night lit up. I am so happy that we didn't settle for the cheap one level dim solar caps offered at the big box stores. You won't be disappointed.

I know what you're thinking.. "these are a little pricey". I don't disagree. In fact, after ordering just one, I purchased a bulk order of solar lights from a different vendor for considerably less money. I HATED THEM. These lights perfectly compliment the trex decking. The white matches beautifully. The other lights i purchased clashed during the day as the white was too bright and obviously didn't match. When they are lit at night they provide the most beautiful ambiance to the evening. They look very classy and elegant. Worth every penny. I went back and ordered two more. I intend on purchasing more next month. With Covid I am spacing out my spending erring on the side of caution. I am giving this product 4 stars, taking one of for cost.

I purchased 17 of these for my new trex deck - after searching the web a bit, these appear to be the only option available for solar trex post caps with any reliability. The process to connect the batteries was not easy for me (older eyes)- 6 screws to undo and then redo (X 17) plus the clear plastic connectors were stiff and didn't connect easily. Almost half of mine did not light up first try, so I set them aside, later undid connector, and re-connected and then they worked fine. It took all day one day to get these ready. Then there were issues with the magnets for me also. I preferred the amber color so it was a lesson in patience to cycle through white, then blue to get to amber. I tried a big blob of magnets together but what worked for me was just 1 or 2 of the magnets - the challenging part was to move the magnet around the pad until you see a flicker - that's when you know you have the right spot to change colors; then you have to steadily hold magnet until it turns blue, and then amber. All this magnet work has to be done at night. It took me a few nights as my hand got tired lol. It's been 2 weeks now since I did all this. They all turn amber every night and look gorgeous. It is weird that they all turn on at different times, but within 20 minutes or so of each other.

It's only been a couple of days, but so far, we are extremely pleased with these post caps. Considering the cost, I was hesitant to purchase 12 of them, but I'm happy I did.

Installation is fairly simple, and the hardest part is securing the cap on some of the fatter posts. We only added the screws on the some of the looser posts.

The variety of colors (white, deep blue, orange) and brightness are worth the cost. Even on the dimmest setting, there is enough light to see, and on the brightest, there isn't a need for additional outdoor lighting.

My only hope is that they last for years!

I updated our deck with composite decking and Trex Transcend Railings. Trex does not offer solar post lights which I needed to update also. I ordered the Solar Post Cap Light made by Ultra Bright. The color matched perfectly to Trex post covers. I had read reviews by other customers and was interested in trying them. The pictures displayed were nice. The variable adjustment to the intensity and the 3 light colors is also a nice feature. I set the color to blue for the 4th of July and it gave our deck a nice COOL touch. Due to some shading on a few of the lights, I was concerned that all of them may not recharge. Wrong ! All do and stay lighted all night since I looked out early one morning plus a neighbor commented: "Your new lights were still shining brightly when I got up for work just before dawn." Great Lights and easy to install. Nice design.

Bought these last year and they held up to the elements over the winter in the northeast.They stay bright all night long, in the winter, they dim out around 4am. Still thats almost 12 hrs. I bought more this year to complete my pool deck, lights up more than enough to swim by and see everything.Expensive, but so far worth it. Ask again in 5 years and give them a real try out time wise.
